After earning his BFA from Buffalo State College, Chris McEvoy studied at Brandeis and subsequently received his MFA in painting from Boston University. He later spent a year as the Starr Scholar at the Royal Academy of Art in London. He has been awarded two full fellowships to the Vermont Studio Center. He has shown his work in London, Boston and New York. McEvoy is currently an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Oswego where he is also the painting coordinator. McEvoy’s work is largely concerned with observing and manipulating organic forms and systems through abstraction.
